I turned 23 on the 23rd this year! yay for golden bdays and A-train sure made it GOLDEN!

I had so much fun over my bday weekend. We wanted to get away for the weekend but didn't want to spend a lot of mulah so we just went to SLC and stayed at the Little America. It was so cozy and quaint and really a lot of fun! I loved that it felt like we were far away, yet we were only an hour away from home.

We did some therapeutic Gateway shopping, and tried some new restaurants, Lugano's Italian, and Eggs in the City breakfast. Both were yummy, but Eggs in the City is tops!! We loved it so much, we plan to go back as often as possible! It was tasty!

And of course per my request we went to see Paranormal Activity 2 - I am obsessed with scary movies - Adrian HATES scary movies, but for my birthday he made the sacrifice and saw PA2 with me, I don't think he ended up seeing half of it cause he closed his eyes so much, he even admits he turns into an 8 year old little girl when it comes to those types of movies. It was really good though!! I really liked it! I thought they could have done more with the ending, but the whole movie was jumpy and suspenseful so it was good!

We went to Boondocks and went bowling and played lots of dumb yet entertaining arcade games. We kinda kicked butt and got lots of those tickets, we were able to get one of the stuffed animals on the back wall (ya know where the "expensive" toys are) haha we gave it to Bevo when we got home.

All in all it was such an awesome bday! I had so much fun and it was super relaxing! Just what we needed, and its all thanks to my sweetheart Adrian. Love you babe! :)

Happy second anniversary babe!

Adrian took me to Vegas for our anniversary and it was so fun! We stayed at the Four Seasons and man, it was awesome...I could get used to luxury hotels!

We spent this trip just relaxing by the pool, and taking it easy. Not too much walking the strip or anything like that, just enjoying a nice vacation. We did do a lot of shopping though...oops!

The only thing we did go see was the new City Center - ya know what...its not that cool. It was pretty disappointing - and to think of all the billions of dollars that went into it...bummer!

Can I just say that my Adrian is the sweetest hubby ever!

Anyway...bottom line...I love my husband!

well as a lot of you know i've been working at lowe's home improvement store since january, and well it makes your feet and legs sore and tired all the time. I was assured I would get used to this and it would stop hurting....ummm.....no!

Its been 3 months and I'm in more pain than ever, I can barely walk! Most days I'm trotting around and ants are walking faster than I am! It kills! and stairs....don't even get me started! The pain has been getting progressively worse and well it got so bad that the paychecks weren't worth it anymore...my health is more important. I already put in my two weeks and am done at lowes :'(

I have really jacked up my knees and am crossing my fingers that they heal alright and there is no permanent damage.

Senior Exhibit is almost here....

Yesterday I spent 15 hours at the gallery setting up for senior exhibit. it. was. a. long. day. Ya know the expression too many cooks in the kitchen, I think its ten times worse when you have too many designers in the mix. It doesn't help when were all hungry, tired, stressed, and ornery. However, despite the many bickering moments, its coming together very well! Everything is looking awesome and I know the night of our reception is going to be amazing! Please come and support!

*as a side note...I was supposed to have everything printed, mounted, and hung up this weekend, but alas I haven't had a spare 4 minutes let alone a spare 4 hours to go print and mount. I was forced to try and print today, but its easter, and no one is open for business.....adding to the stress level!! I'm crossing my fingers everything works out....

For Valentines this year we were pretty low key, we are kinda scrapped for cash right now so we didn't get each other any gifts really, but Adrian and his cute self still knew how to make this weekend special, as ya'll probably know he gets up super early in the morning and leaves before I even wake up. I came down in the morning and on our door were lots of pink post it notes arranged in a huge heart all with "I love you's" and other sweet sayings...he even wrote out the lyrics to "you are my sunshine," he is just simply THE best hubby in the world!

On actual Valentines Day my cousin's John and Debbie threw a party at their awesome house and it was a blast...found out a little more than perhaps I wanted to about my aunts and uncles when they played the "not so newly wed game," nah it was funny!! Good to know that in 30 years even if I still can't remember trivia about my spouse we'll still love each other like we did the first time we met.

FUNNY STORY

My sweetest little niece Mikinly couldn't keep her hands off the balloons all night, and she was adorable with them. She was convinced every little kid had their own balloon, she wouldn't let anyone else have hers and kept having me hold it all night to make sure it was safe. That and whenever another kid lost his balloon, Kinly would ever-so-sweetly pick it up and take it back to them and say "here ya go!" OH she's a cutie!

BUT when the balloon she was playing with popped, she. was. so. scared. the balloon popped and the look on her face was shear terror. She looked up and I was the first person she saw and she ran for me! I just held her while she was sobbing and she was shaking so bad. Oh poor Kinly. (It was soooo cute though)

WOW!!! I can't even believe it but my iphone works!! Crazy huh?!?! The apple guys suggested putting it in a bag of rice over night and after running a blow dryer on it for a few minutes, and well it worked apparently! I tried to turn it on this morning and it didn't work - like I expected - but when Adrian got home he put it on the charger and a few minutes later tried turning it on and IT CAME ON!! Luckily he didn't give up as easily as I....thanks babe! The screen is super cloudy and messed up, but I can still read everything and everything works except the WiFi. I'm so happy that I have my iphone back...oh its such a relief! Other good news too, apple won't replace it for free obviously but they will let me trade it in for a new one at the same price I spent on mine, so it'll only be $199 to get a new one! Which is quite nice...it won't take as long to save up for a new one as I thought! YAY :)

Well as fun as this last weekend was, (which it really, totally was!) it ended quite sadly...my poor iphone is toast.

My family got together for new years and we played games that we'd all gotten for Christmas all day long..it was a blast! We really had fun learning all these new games we've never played before. That night Adrian and I stayed at my parents house which often happens when we spend the day in Ogden. We all sort of wanted to play and "easy game we didn't have to think about" so we played some good old fashioned Pinochle (no thinking involved ;) wink wink) while doing so, I naturally became thirsty, pretty normal right? I went and got a drink called cascade ice, my mom loves them and got me addicted to them, its just flavored water that is carbonated just a little. I opened it up while sitting at the card table and it exploded everywhere in my lap! I was so annoyed cause its just a little fizzy not super fizzy like soda, but none-the-less it went everywhere! (on me, not my mom's chair luckily!) So I went upstairs to change my clothes and get them in the wash as soon as possible cause it was a very red drink and I didn't want it to stain my clothes. I put them all in the wash and went back to the game.

A few minutes later we all were a little confused at this odd noise we all heard, we couldn't figure out what was making the sound when my dad and I realized, OH! its just the washer running, no big deal.....but it was an odd sound, my mom simply asked well what would be making that noise? Did you leave anything in your pocket? I never keep anything in my pockets, I hate having something in my pockets, it just bugs me so I started to answer my mom, "No I never have....OH MY GOSH MY PHONE IS IN MY POCKET!!!!!!!!!!" It was such a horrible realization that I yes had indeed left my phone in my pocket, which it hardly is ever in. Well tell me my iphone is in the washer and I can move like Spiderman! I jumped out of that chair so fast, and was booking it to the laundry room full speed when I found out that Mom and Dad's floor is extremely slippery when running full out. I ate the tile! I fell down so hard, but it didn't stop me, I still needed to get my phone out of the washer! I got back up, frustrated that the fall had slowed me down, and as I was reaching the laundry room, I remembered that my Mom's washer locks when its in the middle of a cycle. Great. My iphone is in the pocket of my jeans, which are in the washer, which is locked.

I. Was. Pissed. I was just so mad at myself that I'd done something so stupid! So utterly avoidable, but no...the damage was done. Mom and Adrian were right behind me, we turned off the washer, and waited for it to drain enough for it to unlock the door. We finally pulled it out but it was full of water and detergent everywhere, you can still see it all inside the screen. I'm waiting for it to dry all out, which might take like a week, and we'll see if it'll turn on, but I'm expecting the worst...it's most likely toast.

I have already shed a few tears. I know I know its just a phone chill out right? Well I have destroyed phones before and you're right I didn't care at all...its just a phone. An iphone however really sucks when you lose it! $300 bucks down the drain. Its not only my phone it was my ipod, my calender, my gps, my email, my numbers, my photos, ugh...its sucks not having it!! If it is completely ruined, I won't be able to get another one for a long time too...so yes I'm super bummed...great way to end my winter break! And as if that wasn't enough that annoying little fall while on the way to rescue my iphone, wasn't such a little fall after all, I have bruises everywhere and I probably sprained my wrist and hit my hip rather hard too, I'm sore all over...awesome...happy new year!

St. Thomas...

Our family traded a week in the cold and snow for a week in the sun on the beach. This last week we were in St. Thomas. I can't tell you how much fun we had with everyone, and with my new camera I took only a measly 250 pictures! haha I won't put them all on here I'll just highlight some awesome parts of the vacation...

We had such an incredible time on the island. The beaches were so beautiful and very very relaxing! It was the perfect getaway! Here are just some photo's of the island...so pretty!

We went snorkeling while we were there, it was super fun! The water was so clear, we saw sea turtles, sting rays, and lots of other stuff! Jake was so excited he got to drive the boat! We went to an aquarium too, which was super cool! There are iguana's everywhere! They're like pigeons! haha they were crazy little things!

Well, I have the CUTEST nieces and nephews...and I'm going to brag about it...just look at these...can it get any more adorable!? There's a ton of pictures in this part, I couldn't help myself...they all just make my heart melt...

There were tons of cruise ships coming into the harbor all week long, but the coolest ones were the Oasis of the Seas which is the largest cruise ship in the world, and the 6th largest private owned yacht the Rising Sun, it's 454 feet long! They were so cool....

Adrian and I had so much fun with my family! We loved just playing Pinochle and chilling out at the beach with everyone. Our family ROCKS!! We always look forward to our family vacations every year. They are always so fun and we always make the best memories!

Are we in Utah?

Okay I'm just not sure we're in Utah anymore....Its December and its only snowed twice...neither of which stuck on the ground for more than 6 hours! What is this? I thought I hated snow, but I'm now realizing I hate winter without snow...cold without snow is just pointless! My jeans are not going through the usual wear and tear of trudging through the wet, soggy slop, and I'm still in my beloved flip-flops, but I WANT SNOW! Where is the winter wonderland, and greatest snow on earth that is Utah??? Bummer....Let it snow!

I love the autumn time! It's by far the best time of year! I love it! Everything about it...the weather, the holidays, the football...its such a great time of year! And now the golfing...It's nice to go golfing in the autumn time, there aren't as many people, and its cooler, so you don't get all sweaty! haha Now that my whole family is into golfing we get to go even more, we just went to Valley View yesterday and it was so beautiful! We have had a fun time golfing and have loved going with my family so much. Thanks everybody!

Game nights at the Empey's

Adrian and I have found ourselves having a weekly date with my parents for game night for about the last month or so. We play Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Golf, and our personal favorite Pinochle. Its been 9 or 10 years now since my family became addicted to Pinochle. Every spouse has gone through the initiation into our family and has had to endure the learning process of this game, (even if they don't want to...they don't have a choice). And in all that time we have never ever seen the infamous 8 aces come out to be melded....until last night.....Adrian couldn't believe the awesome pass from dad, He already had 6 aces in his hand and got the other 2 from papa. Needless to say Mom and I had NOTHING in our hands...and come meld time, wow, we were speechless, there they were all in a row...8 ACES!!! It ended up being a hand worth about 1300 points...practically the game! Lucky for Mom and I they were in the hole 300 points. I wonder if we'll see em again in the next decade of Pinochle nights..

Birthday's Rock!

Not only do birthday's rock, but my husband takes the cake in the rocking department! Adrian took work off on Friday (I don't have school on Friday's and conveniently my birthday fell on a Friday this year!) we went to breakfast at our new found favorite J&D's. Awesome breakfast food. When we got home all my presents were there for me to find. There was a central them to all my presents this year....GAMES! and I sure do LOVE games! Adrian knows how much I hate to listen to the radio as well, so he got me an auxiliary adapter for my car so I can listen to my iphone instead, yay! We then went to Paranormal Activity, I love scary movies! They are some of my favorite movies to watch and even though A isn't a big fan of them (he closes his eyes a lot) he took me anyway. After that we went to Lagoon to ride the rides and go to Frightmares, that was one of our first dates and we hadn't been back since, it was really fun to go again. Again A isn't the biggest fan of heights so he can get a little antsy when riding some of the roller coasters, but he wanted to make sure that my day was perfect, so he willingly went white knuckled and all...It was the perfect birthday!

I just want to thank Adrian for making it such an awesome day...he is so self sacrificing and always ALWAYS knows how to make me happy and smile...I love you him soooo much!!! I am so lucky that I'm married to the perfect man who loves me with all his heart! :)

4 wheeling!

it was a bit dusty, we were trying to get it out of our eyes after every stop!

we had an AWESOME vacation with our friends steve & jessica, they live in sweden, but were in town for a few weeks..so we took the time to go camping with them at the grand canyon, we also stopped in lake powell, st. george, and zions! we had so much fun!!

we went camping in yellowstone this last weekend and is was SO MUCH FUN!

this post could be a long one so ahead of time i am warning you....

we bought a tent this year and are very glad to announce that it is great! it stormed a lot and we didn't get wet nor did anything in the tent! it was very spacious for us and our stuff and its very well vented! we like it a lot, turned out to be an excellent investment, our camping chairs however were not! haha the third time i sat in mine it ripped to shreds, good thing they were only 5 bucks each....ya get what ya pay for right?

well we also bought new hiking shoes...some dang nice teva's that are half hiking boot, half sandal! we are loving them! we hiked quite a bit this vacation and they were good on our feet, took a little breaking in of course, i have two little blisters on my toes, but, overall so comfy and so nice! we are really trying to be healthier, and lose weight so we wanted to do a lot of hiking and oh we did! we went to the canyon and did all the falls hikes.

it was sooo beautiful! and the weather was wonderful, it was all thunderstorms, then it would stop and still be about 60 degrees, it was so nice for all the hiking we did.

the canyon may be my favorite now, and we took a lot of pictures, correction, I took a lot of pictures....so bare with me!

we went to the mud volcano and mud pots, its so crazy to me that all that is under the surface of the earth, just makes ya think ya know! at least it does me, what all there is that we don't know about and what we can't see...its nuts! but anyway, moving on!

so on the way back to camp after the mud volcano's we were stopped in traffic. after just a few minutes i began to see why...there were several buffalo walking down the street, and crossing the road. it was slowing the driving process down but provided excellent photo op's. well the cars in front of us were finally able to go, however, at this point there were quite literally a dozen bison surrounding us, and one of them stopped RIGHT in front of us..."she" (i think it was a she) seemed very agitated and lowered her head several times while giving us the stare down of a life time...we thought that she was going to ram the car a few times. the male of the group kept swinging his head from side to side and grunting a lot!! he chased one of the other ones, and i was SHOCKED to see how fast those bison can move...wow! it was starting to get rather freaky because they were seriously close!! i could have touched them from inside the car and they were on all sides. so we stopped snapping pictures and rolled up the windows...good thing too and just in time...i don't think they were too happy with us...they blocked us in for about 10 minutes...haha there was a ranger on the other side of the road who looked a little nervous for us, and we were a tad nervous ourselves...luckily, no buffalo rammed us so we were safe after they finally left us alone and went on there way toward the river...it was fun tho!

this is just one of MANY close up shots we were able to get....thats the "she" that cut us off and that we thought for sure was going to ram into us...

anyway...i could go on and on about our vaca but i wont...here is just a few more shots of the awesome trip that i thought were blog worthy....enjoy!!

well i have been down here in st. george now since may. lets just say

IM SO READY TO COME HOME!

the charm and excitement of st. george and my internship has officially worn off. i am so anxious to just be with my husband everyday again, and sleep in my own bed! i will be done here on wednesday and it can't come fast enough! i have learned a lot being down here and know a little bit more of want i want in the future - priority one - being with my hubby as much as possible! so now im going to head home and spend time with the one i love. were going to start out by going to yellowstone (which we've decided is going to become an annual thing), then we will spend some time with our friends steve and jessica at the grand canyon while they are in town! it'll be a fun few weeks before we head back to school! and i really can't wait!

well living in st. george has yet another plus to it....its so dang close to vegas! so adrian and i decided to go chill in vegas this last weekend. he had never been to the outlet malls and wanted to get some new t-shirts and basketball shorts (he goes thru them faster than you'd imagine) so we headed down to the outlets, but first wanted to check out the half-price ticket shows to see if there was anything worth going to....well they had le reve tickets half-off and in the second row!! so we definitely scored there...the show was amazing! all the diving into the water and all the awesome tricks they did in the air! yay for cirque shows! they are the best! i recommend it to anyone! and right now while vegas is suffering so bad, there are tons and i mean TONS of open seats and half-off tickets to a bunch of shows...our theater was barely half full and we were at le reve...in the wynn..on a saturday night...come on now! but yes we did go to the outlets too and got a bunch more t-shirts for adrian and since his are always more comfortable, i steal them and get to wear them too! ;) and also yes we of course went to carnegie deli for the best cheesecake ever! we can't pass it up no matter how hard we try to be good....it is our weakness! and fyi for anyone who cares or wants to know...they now have a serendipity in las vegas..in the planet hollywood! its not only in new york anymore so you can get their infamous desserts there too!!!

well as many of you may or may not know i have what is probably consider a very strange, bizarre, and a possibly unhealthy obsession with vampires. yes i said it, and you read correctly, vampires. as much as i liked twilight in the beginning, it got really old, and way too popular..(many of you will not agree with me, but that is the beauty of self opinion!) so here is my latest addiction to reading...the house of night series! it could be said that its a kind of harry potter for vamps, but its a lot darker, and edgier...something i can get aboard on!! well anyway, i may have read the first five in the series in four days, and am looking forward to the next installment in november! i love being obsessed with books...and vampires fascinate me!

yeah, yeah, its been awhile i know! but sometimes life is crazy and lately its been that time! so i thought it was about time for a gosh darn update! (for those few who actually read this..)

i am currently living in st. george doing my summer internship at gable house interiors. its awesome! i love the work and being out in the design world! its so much fun to have these experiences, and im happy to say im learning TONS! more than i thought i could in such a short time, i love it! its nice to know that i have learned what i needed at school, and now i can apply them here at work. plus im learning all the real life stuff too now in addition to what i already know! so its really fun for me. whats not so much fun is being away from adrian...that part actually blows big time! its really hard to be away from the one you love for so long, i just wish so much that i could come home to my sweet husband every night, *sigh* no such luck! but its nice when he comes down to visit, we have really grown to love southern utah and really would not mind settling down down here. its a wonderful place. i do miss being close to my family too, especially since i have a new baby niece and im DYING to see her!! (sarah, talk cam into coming down here sometime this summer and come see me ;D)

well this last weekend adrian and i went to zions national park for memorial day and it was a blast! we were just the casual hikers this time around, we didn't attempt the infamous angel's landing or the narrows, but we enjoyed seeing the emerald pools, and awesome rock formations! were going to go back when we have more time and really dig our feet into it. i love it down here! we had a good time this last week swimming, and just relaxing, spending the short time we had just having fun! can't wait til the next time...

well other than that - good news! adrian finally was offered a job with staker, with a raise, and perks, and everything so were glad that that is all sorted out and he'll be hanging around ogden for awhile longer! it took so long for all that mess to come together, but were sure relieved it did!

well as for an update i think that about covers it!

this last weekend was our beloved one year anniversary, and let me tell you it did not disappoint!

it was full of golfing, delicious food, swimming, weddings, delicious food, awesome hotel, did i mention delicious food, birthday parties...well i think you get the point.
we began the festivities friday morning (adrian got work off) by going out and breaking in my anniversary present - a stinking hot set of golf clubs, seriously they are the coolest ones - we hit a bucket-o-balls at toads. i love my new clubs. its so much easier than using adrian's set (they're just so heavy and long, mine fit me perfectly :) ) now all thats left is for me to wait till my swing improves into a seasoned golfer's (haha right....)
next we got ourselves ready for a deluctible dinner at la caille. it was AMAZING to go back a year later and just reminisce about our wedding day and how beautiful it was! it was raining pretty much all afternoon so we didn't walk around the grounds a lot but we did capture a few shots of places special to us! of course the dinner was soooo good and soooo unhealthy and soooo expensive haha but we didn't care it was so much fun! we had a blast!
we headed back home and watched a real romantic film....terminator....thats how we do it! haha
on saturday we had yet another fun filled day all planned. we headed down to salt lake to the grand america hotel (oh yes that's right) we had stayed there our wedding night and had received a complementary upgrade if we returned for our one year anniversary (sucker's pulled us right in...) we spent the afternoon lounging around the pool, splashing lots! and just having fun! we had a wedding that night in draper that we went to, which was also fun seeings how it was we who had gotten married exactly 365 days earlier. we went to the gateway and saw some movies, (were movie junkies...) then proceeded back to the hotel where we ordered room service and spent the night "reminiscing" again.
we woke up sunday walked around the gardens and had the infamous grand america sunday brunch buffet (way too much good food this weekend) then after a quick release from our church callings, we headed down to ogden for my sweet nephew's birthday bash. filled with fun, laughter, ballons, baseball cake, family, and great memories...
then on to home it was....we can't believe how lucky we are to be able to be married to one another and we can't stop loving every minute of it...we share so much love for each other that i know will never grow old...cheers to many many more happy anniversaries!!

oh my goodness and what a happy end it is....adrian and i are finally finished with this hell of a semester! man we are sooo glad! it has been rough for us both. were going to very much enjoy this break. well as much as we can anyway...haha ill be in st george and adrian will be here, but we will see each other as often as possible! and it will be fun! were going to make the best of it...still no school - can't get much better than that haha well not much of a post today but i just wanted to point out how excited we both are to be done.

anyway...adrian and i won the lucky draw to go see wicked and it was fan-bloody-tastic! i love that show! it is superb! i won't dish out too much cause i know there are lots who still have yet to see it! but i just wanted to say thanks to mom and dad for leaving town and letting us see it in their place! i've seen it once before on broadway with my sista, but it was adrian's first and he loves it!! he even let me play the soundtrack on the way home, and didn't say boo about me singing it out with all my might! haha thanks babe...

for the first time ever, i went real golfing on sat. well that is not entirely true, i have gone before with some friends, but we were just goofing around and it was only 3 holes. i played 9 holes with adrian this weekend, and i am now addicted to golf. i have always been a fan of the mini version, and now i get to enjoy the full version. it was a blast! i got a bruise on my hand from the club, and i found out i need to practice my swing a billion more times, but it was all worth it! i had so much fun with adrian! he was a great teacher...were guna go lots more! and with me being in st. george this summer, my guess is im going to get a lot more practice!

funny story:

i LOVE driving the carts! i think its soo awesome! so adrian always lets me drive. however, once while adrian was driving he thought he'd be all cool and go super fast across the fairway and try and scare me by not slowing down until right at the top of the hill that was on the other side. well, instead of just hitting the break to slow us down, he accidentally hit the parking break, locking up the wheels. so we flip around going backwards down the hill now. needless to say he didn't just scare me, he scared himself too. luckily it was pretty much dirt right when he hit the breaks so we spun around instead of rolling over down the hill. it was a good time!

for the last two months i have been applying to SEVERAL interior design firms across the u s of a and got nothing! i was really starting to worry about what i was going to do when i decided i'd go to new york. there were several other students going so housing would be cheaper and there are so many places out there i was bound to get something....right? well yeah! so i sat down this morning and call 25 firms. 8 of them were interested and i started sending out my resume & portfolios. (which is a very long intense story on its own - see me some time if ya wanna hear about that -it was hectic!) i'd been at it for hours when a fellow student and friend allie called me and said that she had been accepted at a design firm in ny and was wondering if i was interested in taking her previous internship she'd accepted in st. george. well i was intrigued so i had her give the guy a call, he really wanted a summer intern and now that allie dropped out she was sure i would get it...she made the call to him, she called be back, she told me he was interested in me and wanted me to contact him. i was thrilled to find out that it was a paid internship (which lets face it, in today's economy-BONUS!!) and all the while i talked to him i wanted it more and more and not so much a ny internship anymore...see in st george 1-i will be paid 2-i will be closer to my sweet hubby 3-cross your fingers it works out that i wont have to pay for housing 4-found out that he is a very awesome, nice guy to whom i will be working with one on one in every project!! it seems like a perfect opportunity and I ACCEPTED! i am going to be spending my summer in sunny st george and i can't wait! it's going to be so fun! now i just have to survive these last few weeks of school....hmmmm haha

well for all you hp fans out there...awesome news...universal studios in orlando florida is going to include a harry potter themed park within the park!! AWESOME!! you might be able to sense my extreme excitedness!! (word?) anywho, you can check out the info they have at

they have some cool conceptional photo's of the three broomsticks and dervish and bangs. they will also include hogsmeade and the hogwarts castle that you will be able to go inside of. ya know it'll be a little mini hp world for all us fanatics who are obsessed with harry and the wizarding world! there's not too much info now, but it is scheduled to open in 2010. there will be rides and you can shop in the same store as in the books...and buy the same foods and drink...bring on the butterbeer!

adrian and i desperately needed a break and quick getaway this last week. luckily it was spring break and adrian could take a couple days off work. we headed on down to vegas and ironically my parents were there the same time for the mountain west conference. the games that my mom didn't want to go to - adrian was happy to take up the extra seat. we didnt stay in the bellagio this time..we downgraded a bit to the sahara but, hey a vacation is a vacation. it was so nice to forget about everything here -our extrememly busy schedules and responsabilities- and just relax, spend more than a couple hours together each day, and actually have fun!! we've NEVER not wanted to come back home so much! if we could just move to hawaii and be beach bums, we would. not even guna lie...

my main focus in this room is snow. utah really has the best snow on earth and i wanted to showcase that in this room. i also was assigned to research a designer, syrie maugham, who was a designer in the 20's. she is the first one to design an "all white room," i thought this would be an awesome challenge to incorporate into the space, and what better time to try then when my inspiration for the room is snow...come on! fits perfectly! i LOVE the way it turned out....

MY HUBBY ROCKS!!!!
seriously...you don't even know! he is the greatest!
saturday we woke up and my sweet husband made me a delicious breakfast! truly it was amazing...eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, orange juice, chocolate milk, it was the works!
i took a shower and when i came out, on the bed was sitting my gifts - which were unexpected - at least the amount was...he got me 3 movies i LOVE: grease, pride & prejudice, and nick & norah's infinite playlist. along with the movies he gave me a racing game for xbox (burnout), and a cute little stuffed doggy, because we want one sooo much! on top of all that the card he gave me had all sorts of coupons in it and "hidden" inside was a gift card for an hour long massage....wow! sooo excited to use that!
so then we watched nick & norah, got ready to go to dinner where apparently i had yet another "suprise" waiting for me there! adrian took me to the metropolitan in salt lake and we had an exqusite meal! very tasty! and at the end of dinner while adrian was signing the "hefty" bill i was told i could take the flower arrangement, that i'd been ooogling over all through dinner, home with me!
needless to say we had a WONDERFUL valentines!!
its soo fun being married!

okay well it seems to be causing quite the confusion this new little rooster!

thing is that the spanish translation of gallo is rooster - therefore adrian and i use that quite often we think its kinda fun so...hence the rooster + some photoshop fun, i just thought it looked cool and it was something new that is personal to adrian and i! hope that clears things up everyone.

however, i am somewhat bummed that the-cutest-blog-on-the-block is no longer, i just changed it today and was planning on getting a cute background that matched the colors more but, that can't be done now, or at least it sure isn't working for me anymore, i type in the address and it says it cant be found. if anyone knows of another site or place to get cute layouts and backgrounds for the blogs be sure to let me know!

adrian is a genius!

this morning i woke up and much to my dismay discovered that my beautiful wedding ring was missing a diamond. i was so upset and frantically began the search for the tiny minuscule diamond (i don't know why i thought i'd be able to find it). of course after my failed attempt, i called adrian, in tears, and told him the sad news. He just simply said, sweetie don't worry! the ring is insured and they will be able to replace it no problem. phew!!! was i relieved. im so happy that we can get it fixed and i can have my whole wedding ring back again!

well so it was over a month ago, but on october 23rd i turned 21! wahoo! it was so fun, we both were busy with school so we didnt do much (no we didnt hit a bar) we just went to maddox, came home ate some godiva chocolate cheesecake and watch some csi and the office and a movie! it was fun! loved it...

okay, so to start i should tell you that i have always been against the whole wake up early and fight with thousands of people to get stuff the day after thanksgiving. however, adrian has done it before and wanted to go today because there of course were some excellent deals. he talked me into getting up at 2 in the morning to get to best buy by 3 to wait in line for 2 hours for it to open at 5. how did he do this? by explaining to me that guitar hero was on sale for 80 dollars (which included 2 guitars). but there were only supposed to be 14 per store. so we got up earlier than any human should and went to pick up adrian's mom who wanted to join in the masses, and the rain, and we were there about 3 mins after 3. well people had camped out in tents all night long and the line had already wrapped around the building. we thought about baggin it but i said i didnt get up and come here to leave now....so we waited and waited, while this annoying yet entertaining woman with a cot (which she had thought was a camping chair) never stopped talking once, and was planning to buy everything in the store. anyway we figured there wouldn't be any left by the time we got inside but, wanted to check out the other deals going on, we finally got inside and there were guitar hero's everywhere! much more that just 14 of them! so we got guitar hero plus 2 guitars for 80 bucks! alright at this point it was so worth it! i was sold! but we then headed to target, where we stood in another line, rushed in and people were throwing elbows, but again got the great deal i wanted! an 8 piece bedset for only 50 bucks! yay! and boots for me, so my feet wont be so cold anymore! we got some games for like 10 dollars each too and some cheap movies. then we ran to pet smart...suprise! no one there really haha got the dog food needed for moose, and the drove to the last stop on our list. hastings. for an ipod shuffle that was on sale for 26 dollars (after a mail in rebate of 15). This one i had to run for, but i got it! and although it was supposed to be blue and it turned out purple, we got it even cheaper than 26. see, the cashier rang it up and it was 39 and change, (the rebate would make it 26) however he then manually changed it to ring up as 26. the reciept printed and the rebate printed out still so as soon as we send that in, it'll be 10 dollars we paid for the shuffle! very nice! adrian's mom got almost everything on her list and we got everything plus a little extra on ours so...we had fun!!! and it was totally worth it! i have a feeling im guna become a regular on black friday!

this last weekend we had the chance to go 4 wheeling with adrian's parents! needless to say we had a blast! we went just up the canyon to mantua and rode to the top of the mountain. it was beautiful! you could look out over willard and see lots of other lakes. it was sunny and snowy! gorgeous! not to mention the fun muddy puddles we went full throttle through! ;D it was the best! we cant wait to go during the summer on their long trips!

well, update -

for school i have been working on a project for the fragrance lines at macy's. i've literally been slaving away for a little over a month and tonight roughly around 8:30, my computer decided it no longer wanted me to work on it, so it has forbidden me to open the files. i can't access my renderings that i have been working on so hard. now it may not seem like a big deal to others, but to me its devastating! i have to start all over, and catch up on hours, days, and weeks of time i've put into this project. deadlines dont change because of technilogical problems....

above is the last rendering i was able to do. it was almost done! but, alas, i will be doing it all over again...

Oh my goodness my husband is awesome! I've been a little bit stressed lately with school and things so yesterday morning Adrian asked me out on a date. We haven't been on one since we've been married, so I was pretty excited! It was just what I needed...a little personal time with my hubby without worrying about school, etc, etc. So he headed off to work and I to school, the whole day i was just anticipating our date...I had no idea what Adrian had planned. When I got home, I walked in the door and right there in front of me is an envelope with my name on it, and Adrian is no where to be seen. I opened it and inside was the sweetest little card that played music..(cute, funny little tune) It was so adorable! So, now I'm even more excited. I go to find Adrian and there he is, coming down the stairs looking smokin' hot!! All fancied upwith a new hair cut, all shaved, and in very attractive clothing! We went to the first stand by our house and got yummy peaches and apples, lots of corn, peppers, and other goodies. Then he took me to dinner at Maddox, (of course :D) and we were going to go to the park after to throw around the football, but unfortunetly it was dark by that time, so we just headed back home to watch a movie!

It was a very fun and much needed night! Adrian always knows when I'm down and how to make me feel better...every time!

Wii tourney!

So this saturday we hung out with our good friends Joey and Kyla, we started off the night with some good ole laser tag at Toad's (Kyla and I found out we are NOT very good, didn't realize the others could shoot our guns as well as our vests to kill us...needless to say we died the most) the boy's did very good however...but with us on the team, we lost! So, we headed to our house to play Wii. We raced on Mario Kart, to which I dominated! I only brag about that because it was my only highlight of the night! Next we decided to have ourselves a Wii Sports tourney! And much to my suprise, i am so sore!! It kicked my butt! Its like i've been at the gym all week working out...(which i sould be) haha anyway, Kyla is one heck of a wii bowler and I can get some knock outs boxing, but the boys swept in all the other events! We had so much fun! We'll plan another tourney soon!

Well, Adrian and I had quite an interesting weekend that is for sure! Saturday night there was a huge lightening storm with no rain and it struck the mountain side right behind our house. It was so nerve racking to just watch the fire burn slowly and slowly down the mountain towards our home. We serioulsy just sat there and watched it burn for about two hours! All the while were shaking in our boots waiting for the knock at the door from the police saying we have five mins to evacuate! So, as were sitting watching the blazes, the wind picks up! I have never ever seen anything quite like a wild fire and wind mixed. It shot across the mountain faster than i could even believe! Luckily for us, it was blowing north, not in the direction of our home anymore...but, they did evactuate four homes just a couple streets away from us, and closed the canyon road for a couple of hours. Needless to say we still have our home and are very grateful for that! Adrian is calling our insurance company today to make sure we have contents insurance! Never know when lightening is going to strike...literally!

I think its safe to say we will both always be looking forward to the weekends! This semester, and year, will be a busy one for us, but we can do anything! We're young as my mom keeps telling us...

we thought yellowstone would make the perfect first camping trip, and i gotta say we were totally right! we stayed at the bridge bay campground and we saw all the sights! old faithful, all the hot springs and mud pots, the grand canyon (one of our faves), mammoth hot springs, everything...we saw it, and we did it! we saw lots of wildlife too, bears, elk, deer, bison, coyotes. we had so much fun! we are definitely going back! poor adrian worked an all nighter so we could leave early in the morning and he slept the whole way there, but once we got there neither of us wanted to sleep, we just wanted to go go go! we weren't about to miss anything while we were staying in yellowstone!

shortly after vegas we headed to hawaii with the whole mp fam! we had an amazing time eating lots of pineapple and hula pie, not to mention the lava flows. it was so fun to have the whole family together but also very nice that we got to go to hawaii so soon after being married...cant say the same for my sis tho ;) hehe...we loved the drive to hana and the volcano! its so beautiful there! i wish i could get a job designing hotels over there...i think we'd move tomorrow!

we went to vegas on our honeymoon and man did we have a blast! my sweet, sweet father hooked us up with a very nice room at the bellagio! this was the view from our room we got to see every night! wow! seeing the fountains from up there was awesome...we ate lots of good food! went to some shows-spamalot is hilarious and if you go to vegas thats my recomendation if ya want to see a comedy-shopped around, walked the strip, etc, etc. we really had a great time...too bad we were only there for 5 days...

we're the gallo's. we were recently married in may, but have been together now for two happy years! we have had it pretty "rough" so far what with 4 vacations this summer and buying a new home. we love our little townhouse and are glad to be settling in. we are new to our little town of perry, and i mean little, but we cant complain about much. we are having a great time! you can often find us at the movies, or golfing, or playing poker, or trying to kill each other on super smash brothers brawl. anything fun we love to do! were crazy in love too...
